I am strongly influenced by the Iyengar tradition and teach Hatha, Gentle, Restorative, and Vinyasa Flow classes. My classes emphasize mindfulness, alignment, and deepening the connection with the breath. Where applicable, I focus on assisting students in finding the appropriate balance of muscular effort, and relaxation and release. I aim to help students increase strength, balance, flexibility, and peace of mind. My primary teacher is Kofi Busia. Other notable influences include Leeann Carey, Erich Schiffmann, Maya Lev, Angela Farmer, and Mark Stephens. My classes are further influenced by my massage training, Vipassana meditation courses, and yoga service programs at the Mount Madonna Center and Pacific Cultural Center in Santa Cruz. I have been teaching since 2002.
